Sql server compact data editor

Is there any gui / tool that allows editing data in a ds ssce file?

as a sql server management studio, which allows you to select a table in sql express + and edit-add / update / delete data in this table using the grid interface!

As you mentioned in your comment, you can edit the table data through Server Explorer in Visual Studio.

Just add a new connection to the .sdf file, expand the Tables view, right-click on the table you want to edit, and select Show Table Data.

This will display a grid that you can edit.

Yes, but it seems pretty easy to develop your own SQL editor and include the necessary Compact Edition files in the project, and then you no longer have to use Visual Studio. Why has no one done this? Is there a reason I don't notice why this might not be possible?

The mskfisher Server Explorer offer worked for me in VS 2010, but I was not able to get it to work in 2013. I could not get the CE provider to appear in the list when I tried to add a connection for any reason,

Instead, I ended up using the SQL Server Compact Toolbox add-in found here . I can use it for both VS 2010 and 2013, and it works like a charm.
