How to get the draft SourceSafe version before a specific date?

I am using SourceSafe Explorer v8.0. I imported an existing project from SourceSafe in VS 2008, worked on the project and checked it several times.

Now I need to import the same project into a different folder, except for the version, before I started working on it. I see the option "Get the latest." Where can I get some older version?

Do not do this from Visual Studio. Log in to VSS using the VSS tool. Select the project in VSS - right-click in the project and select "Show History" - in the dialog that appears, select the version you need and click "Get."

Using gui, as already suggested, is really the easiest way, but only for completeness (and in case you need its automaton):

You can also use commandline to do this using the -V option :

 > set SSDIR=\\[source safe database path] > set SSUSER=[source safe user] > set SSPWD=[source safe user password] > ss GET $/[path project] -R -Vd[date]

Right click on the folder; show the story. Choose a point in time and "Get"
