How to check in both Safari 3 and Safari 4?

I have only one computer (running on OS X), and you need to test both in Safari 3 and Safari 4. Although Safari 4 is the official version, I do not believe that it was added in Software Update, and therefore, probably not accepted by most users. Even if it was clicked, it is still sure that many users have not updated.

The problem is that upgrading to Safari 4 replaces the framework of the Webkit system, which makes it difficult to run it simultaneously with the older version.

One solution that occurred to me was to download the Webkit assembly a few weeks before the release of Safari 3.2.1 and consider it relatively the same as the release, but I would prefer the "real thing" to be safe.

Does anyone have any good solutions for this outside of the operation of several computers / operating systems?

A great tool is Multi-Safari: http://michelf.com/projects/multi-safari/

He does what you want. He scores 55 points on acid3, just throws your still paranoid.

You can download several versions of Safari 2/3 containing the correct version of WebKit. There is no installation, you can drag it into the Applications folder, which is very similar to the nightly builds of WebKit.

There does not seem to be an β€œofficial” way to do this, and many users report that it is difficult, if not impossible.

This forum post should help, if not solve your problem, but YMMV.
