Select fonts for a Windows Forms application

I am trying to create a Windows Forms application. By default, .NET put Tahome 8.25 on the toolbar and Microsoft SansSerif 8.25 on everything else. To improve the overall appearance of the forms, I would like to change them.

Which font family should I use by default? And what size should they be? For:

  • Classic data entry form (shortcut + text field, shortcut + combobox ...)
  • Data grid

Is there a recommended way?

The application is a classic business application, you can think of it as a type of accounting.

I would stick with SystemFonts in such a way that the application matches their main user interface. The same goes for flowers, always a tray and using SystemColor.

However, if for some reason I can choose a font before I heard about the Segoe UI, I used Verdana.

Segoe UI is all good. Presented in Windows Vista is used as a standard user interface font, and it works well in small sizes.
