MinGW - upgrade GCC version 3.4.5 to version 4.4

I have successfully installed MinGW from the directions located here (Automatic Installation). But I wanted to upgrade the version of GCC to 4.4. Am I just overlaying files in my installation directory ( C:\MinGW\ )? If not, how to install this new version of MinGW / GCC?

If this was asked earlier, sorry. I searched, but I could not find the answer (either here or on MinGW.org).

Note I want to install files at http://sourceforge.net/projects/mingw/files/ in GCC version 4 called: gcc-full-4.4.0-mingw32-bin-2.tar.lzma

I hope to get more feedback. I appreciate Ravadre's answer, but more info would also be great!

I personally just deleted the new compiler files, and it works like a charm (I did it with 4.3.0, to be precise), although I can not guarantee that this solution must be implemented.

I'm talking about files that can be downloaded from https://sourceforge.net/projects/mingw/files/ in GCC version 4.

The trick is to unpack these GCC files from an existing MinGW / MSYS installation.

I prefer installations to be completely separated in different directories. This allows me, if necessary, to compile old projects with old versions of the compiler. At one point, I had 2.95, 3.x and 4.4.0, all worked together, so this is a viable option.
