Limiting tsvncache.exe memory consumption in TortiseSVN?

Does anyone know how to manage the tsvncahce.exe memory consumption used by TortiseSVN? He is constantly the largest memory consumer on my machine. ~ 180 MB on my Vista 64 machine. It uses more bars than VS2008, Sql Server and even my browser, which usually has 4-5 tabs.

it just doesn't seem normal. I have already started to ignore disks and folders that he should not keep track of, but this really did not change the situation. Any advice from a guru would be helpful.

It sounds like you already figured out how to configure tsvncache to ignore directories. This is probably your best option.

You can also use the same settings dialog to set the status cache in the shell or not, and not by default. Any of these settings will completely disable tsvncache.exe, but the overlay icons will appear only for the current visible folder or not at all. For more information, click the "Help" button in the dialog box, as a result of which you will go to the "Icon Overlay Options" section of the help file, which explains the settings in more detail.

In addition, when changing the settings for the overlay icon, you need to either kill the tsvncache.exe process or exit it for the settings to take effect.

180 MB? It's nothing! The thing is a gigabyte leak on my dev machine, I have to kill it several times a week.

You have the latest version installed. This problem should be fixed in 1.6.x (where x> 0 or 1, I saw an error report).

If you set the icon overlay to "shell", it will behave much better, but you will lose icons with a recursive status ...
