Add Lightbox Effect to NextGen Wordpress Gallery

I just can't figure it out. How to enable the lightbox effect when using the Gallery Word NextGen plugin?

Your answer was almost perfect and certainly led me to the right path.

The Lightbox plugin to enable the Lightbox effect in Gallery NextGen is actually not recommended and is replaced by the Slimbox plugin by my compatriot Giuseppe Argento.

The official WordPress page for the plugin is here:

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/slimbox-plugin/

Just install the plugin, then click on the link in the gallery settings:

Gallery β†’ Options β†’ Effects

Now you can select β€œLightbox” and it will work perfectly.

Just make sure your images are not too large, as Lightbox / Slimbox does not resize the images that appear in the modal layer above your web page.

I usually shoot a maximum size of 800 x 600.

Not sure if this is exactly what you are asking for, but:

3: I didn’t get the Highslide or Lightbox effect ... NextGEN Gallery only supports Shutter and Thickbox as a fully integrated effect. All other effects are possible, but you need to add them manually. You can use other plugins to add effect. Highslide JS plugin or Lightbox JS plugin

I found this @: http://alexrabe.boelinger.com/wordpress-plugins/nextgen-gallery/faq/ (its Q # 3) related to: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/nextgen-gallery/ faq /
