Looking for cool Silverlight Demos cards

I am currently using Reporting Service for SQL Server 2008, and I think the user interface is not very elegant. And I want to use Silverlight as a user interface for rendering report service data. Two questions,

  • Is it possible? Does the reporting service provide an interface that Silverlight can retrieve and visualize?

  • I am looking for some interesting demos that are better free from source codes that could dynamically display different kinds of diagrams, curves on coordinates based on data received by some data source (for example, Reporting Service).

thanks in advance George

Well, not SSRS, but stones:

A free-to-use SL-based graphing library, quite impressive (good demos, you can even create graphs there on the fly).

Dundas simply adds new silverlight add-on features that integrate the Dundas Chart into Silverlight applications. See the demo of the silverlight add-on here

FYI, Dundas Data Visualization is now acquired by Microsoft for its SQL Server Reporting Service 2008 chart control elements. So, Microsoft Chart control is based on the Dundas Chart source code.

Microsoft's Silverlight Toolkit contains chart controls (scottmarlowe hinted at this, but here's a direct link).

You can also take a look at the Silverlight Viewer for Reporting Services from Perpetuum Software, which may be what you are looking for, or the exact opposite.

Personally, I have a bit of control over Telerik. I have been using their ASP and then AJAX controls for about 3 years ... although they are not free. They have a nice Silverlight package, including a graphics control.

Hy, have you tried the codex? There are many free, open source controls. Have some fun. :)

Since several people mentioned Telerik charts, I thought you should take a look at Telerik new ChartView . Here is a blog post detailing how you can use it. You can also view all Telerik diagrams by clicking here .
