Convert webpage to image

What are some web page image utilities?

In principle, it is equivalent to taking a “screenshot” of the page after opening it.

Awesome: http://wkhtmltopdf.org/

wkhtmltopdf and wkhtmltoimage are open-source command-line tools (LGPLv3) for rendering HTML to PDF and various image formats using the QT Webkit rendering engine.

Someone wrote a blog post about this a few years ago. There are examples in several languages, using both WebKit and Mozilla. There is also an example in Ruby .

It boils down to the following: decide how much you want your window to be; place the browser component in the window; wait for the page to load; capture the contents of the pixel buffer.

http://code.google.com/p/wkhtmltopdf/ again.

Someone already mentioned this. I will write more about this ...

Unlike what is implied in the title, there is an html page converter and an image converter.
It supports png and jpeg.
You can change the user agent string of all the requested URLs and the minimum width and height of the web page.
You can add new headers and set them for all queries.
It works on Windows and Linux.
It can ignore webpage errors.
It uses the Webkit and Qt libraries. It is easy to install, no additional libraries are required (everything is included in the distribution).
It is free and regularly updated. Binary files are available for Linux and Windows.
It can work with flash in Windows. (He can do it on Linux, not tested)

Using Firefox, you will need a screengrab addon.

You can also use gnome-web-photo as a command line tool to take a screenshot of a web page.

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for, but I have had great success using HTML for the Postscript html2ps converter to create a copy of the postscript of the web pages, which are then converted to .gif or .pngs

This does not give the exact quality of the screenshots that you get from a web browser and cannot handle complex things like flash or css, all this is good, but the advantage is that you can run it on a web server.

(I use it to create thumbnails of user-created content, for navigation)

You can use imagemagick and write a script that runs every time the webpage loads.

Not sure if this is what you want, but this is what I sometimes do when some sites are not saved correctly.

I just print them in PDF and I get the PDF file "print output". My printer list has a Microsoft XPS Document, but I do not use it.

Hope this helps! =)
