Is there a reason to prefer Prototype for jQuery?

I do not want this to be inflammatory, so please do not take it that way. Like someone who has used Prototype and JQuery a lot, they both seem very similar, but JQuery (at least at first glance) looks cleaner and more thoughtful. At the moment, I’m wondering, besides the tight integration out of the box with frameworks such as Rails or Seaside, what are the advantages of using Prototype over JQuery?

Short answer no. JQuery requires fewer lines of code and is more widely accepted. It has largely become an industry standard toolkit. Some manufacturers, such as Microsoft, even ship it using their latest products. In addition, jQuery has over a thousand free plugins, and the list is growing daily. They provide an incredible amount of functionality that will be required forever to develop independently. No other toolkit even fits. It also has a very active and helpful user community. There is a lot of .NET documentation for jQuery.

The answer is NO. JQuery is easier to implement, has more plugins, and is generally better than any other similar material (for now).
