How can I check my site using ie6

I worked on a website in the latest firefox and then presented it on a machine that just had ie6 (and it looked awful). anyway, I can check how it will look in IE6 without actually loading. I see that ie8 has compatibility mode (to show how it will look in ie7), is there a similar thing for ie 6?

Get Microsoft Virtual PC (free). You can download images from IE6, IE7 and IE8 for all your wtf-microsoft! debugging.

Also, do not trust IE8 compatibility mode.

Here is a link to VPC images from MS for testing in many combinations of OS and browsers

You can upload your site to some free hosting provider. Then use http://browsershots.org/ to test your site in almost all available browsers (including IE6).

Screenshots of your site will be taken on the website.

I have a test PC where IE6 is installed. And I check the pages on this. I recommend this approach to be the best, since testing on IE6 itself is the best.

I am using Microsoft Virtual PC and IETester. But when I need a quick preview (or I'm traveling with my MacBook Pro) Adobe Browser Lab is awesome! You cannot test interactivity, but display errors that you can test very quickly.

Adobe BrowserLab is a great service if you need a screenshot. However, if you need to test interaction with the site, MultipleIE can install IE6, as well as previous versions (although this is not necessary).

If you're looking for lots of browsers and just screenshot functionality, BrowserShots is another great tool.
