Chrome Application Shortcuts / Mozilla Prism Installer

I want to deploy an installer package for my clients. My application is basically a website, but I want them to have the best experience. Chrome or Mozilla Prism. I would like to give them an installer (win: msi / exe) that puts the icon on the desktop and launches my application. They may or may not have Chrome and Firefox already installed.

I did a minor search, but came up with a dry one. I canโ€™t help, but I think that Iโ€™m not the first to do this. I think Adobe Air has such things, but I have had problems with Air in the past.

Download the standalone chrome installer: http://www.google.com/chrome/eula.html?standalone=1

Open the% temp% folder, it will help if you clear it first.

Run the installer. It will be extracted to the "GUM (something) .tmp" folder

In this folder, quickly find the file by the lines "249.78_chrome_installer.exe. {8A69D345-D564-463c-AFF1-A69D9E530F96}" and move it, since chrome will soon clear the "GUM (something) .tmp" folder.

Rename this file to "chrome_installer.exe"

Now you can associate this file with the installer and run it as "chrome_installer.exe / S --do-not-launch-chrome" for a silent installation. After that, copy the finished application shortcut or run the installer to create it using the following lines: "C: \ Users ... \ AppData \ Local \ Google \ Chrome \ Application \ chrome.exe --app =" http: // local / "

You can use webkit AIR rendering to display the website in an AIR window. You won't need a lot of other code, but then it can use the download / icon installer.

Otherwise, I assume that you can create your own installer for Windows that installs Prism on your machines and then creates the application? Again, it seems that Prism and Fluid (on the Mac) are not aimed at the average user and usually require them to understand the concept of SSB (browser for a specific site). When many people donโ€™t even understand what a browser is, this is a difficult question and one of the reasons I like the AIR installation process.
