Any way to simulate a F5 BIG-IP server?

We have a potential client that uses F5 BIG-IP servers for load balancing. In determining whether we can easily integrate our product with their load balancers, I began to study the API provided by F5. The problem is that I cannot run any custom code from their API without an F5 server. Does anyone know if there is equivalent software for testing?

As I try to find out how the F5 product works, creating my own layouts doesn't help. I want to use various API functions and find out what is coming back.

To help that someone else is trying to do the same, F5 is now releasing a virtual version of BIG-IP Server.

Here is a link to the 90-day trial: BIG-IP Trial

While you are watching the F5 demo, you can read about your application manager in this series of articles on the DevCentral website. BIG-IP ASM Basics

F5 has a popular local traffic manager (LTM), but they also offer several other modules that may interest you (ASM is one of them). The above article has links to other articles where you can download virtual editions of test sites and play with all the functions of the F5 modules. Hope this helps!
