How to install Apache Bench on Windows 7?

I want to install Apache Bench on Windows, can someone tell me which MSI to get?

I installed MSI, but it seems to have installed the Apache http server.

I just need to run Apache Bench since I am testing an asp.net IIS application.

It sounds like you don't want to install Apache, but you want Apache Bench . Can I recommend XAMPP ? Download the versions in zip or 7zip format (much more than regular Apache, but you do not need to install it). Unzip the download.

This is what I would recommend, and where you are currently converging. Since you already have Apache installed, you should already have Apache Bench.

You will find it under

.\apache\bin\ab.exe

in a zip file, if this is what you downloaded, it will be under

 .\xampp\apache\bin\ab.exe

You can download Apache server zip files (much smaller compared to AMPP packages) from the following site

Download Apache Haus

and unzip it. Find the bin folder; you will find ab.exe there.

Here is some documentation on Using Apache HTTP Server in Microsoft Windows .

Apache Bench is often called and called ab .

Your Windows Apache installation should contain the file ab.exe and abs.exe .

This is what you are looking for.

ab - independent file, works without apache http. so install apache http, copy ab from the bin folder and delete the http server.
