How to change the black background of the Aptana IDE (or the whole theme) to another, for example blue?

As mentioned in the comment on gyozo, for a blue theme use

Window-> Settings-> Aptana Studio-> Themes

and select the Eclipse theme.

The default background color in the Text Editors window appears black. No matter what I do, I cannot change it.

That's what I'm doing:

Right-click in the editors window. Select "Settings" from the drop-down menu. Choose "General"> "Editors"> "Text Editors." Change the "Background Color" in the appearance window from black to any. Click "Apply."

The change is made against the background of line numbers in this column.

It is just very simple!

Just do the following: Go to Settings in the window , then Aptana Studio , finally click Themes and select your theme!

To change the main theme, do as described above, but if you want to change the theme of the editor, go to

Window β†’ preferences β†’ aptana studio β†’ publication β†’ themes

In Aptana 3.6.1, the "editor theme" is the second option in this tree. You can use one of the built-in themes or import your own.
