What is the best navigation alternative for tooltips?

I know that the superfish is awesome, but a terrible CMS, which we encounter conflicts in IE6 (hover break in IE6 when CMS applies the selected class to li). I do not know how, but feel free to watch valitics.com/test1 . It could be mootools, scriptaculous, whatever, I just need a good alternative to superfishes.

Arian http://mootools.net/forge/p/moodropmenu is pretty straight forward. Check out the new version of moodropmenu on github.

A year ago, I built one of my own github.com/eerne/sushi-menu/. It should work well on IE6 + and in css-only mode. The tab should allow you to navigate the menu (currently only IE). Although it was written with MooTools 1.2.2, and I have not tested it recently.

Looking at valitics.com/test1, I assume that no matter what plugin you use, you will need to add some kind of custom code.

IE6 (freezes in IE6 when CMS applies the selected class to li)

This is just an assumption, but it seems like a CSS issue that can be fixed using an existing script.

Why not write something simple / elegant yourself with jquery? Here is a good tutorial: http://www.noupe.com/tutorial/drop-down-menu-jquery-css.html ... for most tutorials, only a little code is needed.

I use OM Maximenu . In my opinion, it is simpler and better than Superfish .
