Opening your own application. from safari

I know iPhone apps. work like sandboxes. This means that they do not have access to the files of other applications. And I also managed to open the website in Safari from Native App () using:

openURL:[NSURL URLWithString: Website_Address]

There are four independent applications that I saw when opening with safari.

  • App Store App
  • Maps application
  • Email App
  • Phone application

Is there any way to open my application from iphone website in Safari (maybe some kind of html / xml / php etc code)?

Yes, you can do this by binding your application to a custom URI scheme, and then creating a link with your custom URI scheme, which, when selected, will open your application.

To register a custom URI scheme, you need to modify the info.plist file and assign your custom value to the URL Identifier .

You can view the Apple OS Programming Guide for Apple Developers Documentation for more information, or in this article that details step by step.

Or you can check out Apple's official documentation.
