How to change SmartGit licensing option after 30 days of commercial use on ubuntu?

when installing smartgit 3.0.4, I checked the commercial licensing option because I just clicked the "Next" button :) (30-day trial version, and then you have to buy it). Today is my 31st day of using SG, and I can’t change my licensing options (reinstalling smartgit does not help), and I can no longer use SG without payment (I do not use it for commercial purposes). Do you know how to fix this?

I do not have these files on my ubuntu: http://www.syntevo.com/smartgit/documentation.html?page=installation

I went online and I found this:

To change the license. First go to

Windows: %APPDATA%\syntevo\SmartGit\<main-smartgit-version>

OS X: ~/Library/Preferences/SmartGit/<main-smartgit-version>

Unix / Linux: ~/.smartgit/<main-smartgit-version>

and delete the settings.xml file.

If you have updated many times, you may also need to delete the updates folder.

It helped me on Windows, hope it helps you on other systems as well.

it would be helpful to know if you are using linux or windows. in linux, the settings are in ~ / .smartgit / 3. You can try to delete this folder. Imho is also worth a try on Windows.

Here is the solution for MAC PC:

Open a terminal and enter the following command to display hidden files:

 defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles YES

after that, go to the current user folder using finder, then you will see the Library folder in it, which is a hidden type

Suppose in my case the username is "Delta", so the folder path is:

 OS X: ~Delta/Library/Preferences/SmartGit/<main-smartgit-version>

Delete the settings file and change the option to Non Commercial ..

I also participated in the first installation on ubuntu and chose the 30-day trial version by default instead of the non-commercial version.

Syntevo has a blog that addresses this issue .

After unpacking the tar file, I had a dir called smartgithg-4_0_3. I moved this folder to my home directory and renamed it to smartgit. After launch. /bin/smartgithg.sh created another folder named .smartgit (note the prefix).

I simply deleted the .smartgit folder (the dir tree with all the XML files) and ran the /bin/smarthg.sh script again. The entire installation process is repeated. Select the non-profit option when it appears.

Works fine for windows by going to% APPDATA% \ syntevo \ SmartGit \ and deleting all settings.xml, then open the installed software

Newer versions of SmartGit contain settings in the installation folder. Therefore, in the reset trial, go to the installation folder, for example:

 C:\Program Files\SmartGit

and delete (rename) the .settings directory

just delete settings.xml and try setting up smartgitHg again
