Visual Studio 2008 Installation Project - Enable .NET Framework 3.5

I built a Visual Studio 2008 installation project that depends on .NET 3.5. I added prerequisites such as: .NET 3.5, compatibility with Microsoft Office, VS-tools for Office System 3.0 Run time, .etc. After that, select "Download the prerequisite from the same location as my application" in the "Specify the installation location for the prerequisite" section. I created the setup and found mysetup.msi in the Release directory.

In a new machine, I started a new installation of my application. The dialog box looks like this: "This setting requires the .NET framework 3.5, please install the .NET setup, then run this setting, the .NET Framework can be obtained from the Internet. Would you like to do it now?" it gives the options β€œYes” and β€œNo” - if I click β€œyes”, it will go to the Microsoft website. How can this be avoided? I wanted to install so that the .NET Framework was installed from the same place where I put all the installation files, including mysetup.msi?

In case of silent installation of cmd / c "msiexec / package mysetup.msi / quiet / log install.log" .. in the log I see only half the path after installation, and then an error Property (S): HideFatalErrorForm = TRUE MSI (s) ( D0: 24) [00: 07: 08: 015]: Product: my product. Installation error. === Registration stopped: 3/23/2010 0:07:08 ===

How to complete the installation without user intervention and without errors using the VS2008 installation project?

Thanks for any help in advance for any input.

When you install Visual Studio 2008 by default, the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 prerequisite is not available for local installation. If you want to enable the .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 (SP1) with the application installer, you need to follow the instructions listed in How to enable the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 with your installer .

On the one hand, welcome to SO. Be sure to check the FAQ to find out how the site works.
