I have a build agent that only works with .Net 4.0 RC files, and so .Net 2.0 (initially) and 4.0 (manually) versions were installed.
Now it should support material compiled against 3.5 SP1. Does anyone know if I ask for problems installing 3.5 SP1 after 4.0 RC is already installed?
Thanks in advance.
All versions of the .NET platform can be installed securely nearby. The only way you encounter a problem is to try installing different versions of the same version of the environment side by side (for example, .NET 4 Beta 2 and .NET 4 RC 1 side by side).
Must be yes .. Net 3.5 works as part of the 2.0 runtime. The only thing that adds 3.5 is the dll. This is combined with the fact that each runtime is separate from each other.
Yes, 3.5 will add something for your 2.0, but it should not break it, and 4.0 is a completely new โlineโ, which means that it can work next to the old series (2.0-3.5).
