What does this icon mean?

It seems that it does not have a tooltip, it does not respond to a right-click and does not seem to want to disappear.

Search results are shown here. (Perhaps other things!)

Edit to clarify: when you double-click on an entry in the "Search Results" panel, a "scalpel" appears next to the corresponding line of code. I believe that this will help you select it by eye, since the cursor may not be very noticeable.

Further editing: this page says. To jump to a match, double-click any row in the list of results. The source file is displayed in the code editor with an input point at which matching text begins. A symbol appears in the editor’s indicator field to mark a line that includes a match, and the status bar displays the full text. - since they will not name him, I doubt that the symbol is used elsewhere.
