Delphi on windows

I decided (better or worse) to start learning Delphi. But, is it available in Visual Studio? Or is there an IDE for this? I googled Delphi, but came up with some really weird sites.

thanks

Jason

No one mentioned Lazarus , which provides an IDE (very similar to Delphi), so you can easily create applications for Windows forms. As Free Pascal it is free, in fact it uses the freepascal compiler

Official site: at this place

and you can buy Delphi here for a low starting price of $ 899.

You can also give Free Pascal a try before buying things. The syntax is almost completely compatible, with the exception of free and open source. Of course, you do not get a GUI constructor and all that, but if you are not sure you want to learn the language, this will be a good way to try it.

To get a real feel for the Delphi environment and how to program with Delphi, I would recommend that you look at Nick Hodges': Thirty Camtasia Demons in 30 Days .

Delphi is a product that competes with Visual Studio. If you use Google for the Delphi IDE , the results will not look so strange.

Delphi has its own environment. In many ways, this is better than Visual Studio, although it got its own glitches.

You will get some weird links with common searches, since Delphi is also the name of a company in the auto parts business.

Delphi Prism (Delphi for.NET) 2011 will be available for Visual Studio 2010 as a plugin. It will be released as part of the 2010 holiday.

Try Delphi Turbo Explorer, it's free, and you can even use it for commercial projects: http://www.video-process.com/turbodelphi_en.exe
