Ruby / rubyzip alternative capable of handling rar / tar / zip / 7z?

I was wondering if anyone knows about rubyzip alternatives for Ruby that can handle various formats, notably zip / rar / 7z?

I know about librahive, but it is not complete for my purposes (this is a good stone). (To clarify, libarchive - will not work for me - because I need to be able to run on Windows. (Yes, I know, sucks to be me)) Libarchive actually works on Windows, but still not for my purpose (format support 7zip and rar)

Now I am finishing the launch of the os system commands, but I would like some OS to be independent and able to handle these formats - reading and writing.

thanks

Good for someone else interesting at the moment, if you need more than rubyzip, you can use libarchive, but if you need to support both Windows, but * nix is your best option to go with a third-party binary. Sending system commands in 7zip seems easier. You can also deploy the plugin and enable binary static versions of your favorite archiver. I am going with 7zip since it is gnu and lgpl.

Libarchive is available in the windows:

Are you sure Ruby is not working with it?
