Future SAP Java Connector

Is the Java Java Connector a good way to connect a Java application to SAP? Will there be support and support for the connector in the future (especially in ECC 6.0), or is it the only and only way to use "Enterprise Services" in ECC 6.0 ?

Given that the Java Connector has only recently been redesigned to version 3 and is now used to bridge the gap between NetWeaver's Java Stack and its ABAP counterpart, it is safe to assume that JCo will be located for quite some time. I always prefer to use JCo for web services, if I have a choice - less overhead, easier on the ABAP side. You can take a look at tools like HiberSAP or RCER to make life a little easier on the Java side, that is, reduce the amount of template code and focus on really important things.

Oh sure. SAP is constantly introducing new CE products, but they don’t make the java connector obsolete at all, because you can still integrate third-party software into your juice landscape. Since enterprise services can be represented as SOAP services, as well as in ECC 6.0, you can use any Java soap library. But I believe that RFC is the way to performance (I have not tried it myself, that's what I hear)
