The length of the current selection in Eclipse

Do you know any easy way to find out how long the current selection is in Eclipse? those. I select a fragment of a line and would like to know how many characters there are?

I usually count them by hand, but this is stupid. When you despair, I go to the beginning, check the column number, go to the end, check the column number, subtract, think for a minute if I have to add 1 or not ... and my choice will be lost.

On Windows, Notepad ++ is a good solution. Open a new tab, copy and paste it there, and the document length indicated at the bottom of the window is the number of characters you have.

Easy way? Copy the text and paste it into the account script, like this site:

(Warning: site background may damage your eyes.)

Eclipse supports the Selection object if you use its API:
