Emacs: is there a way to specify a case-insensitive regular expression search?

In Javascript, I just need to add i to regexp to make it case insensitive. In .NET, I use RegexOptions.IgnoreCase .

I know about case-fold-search . I want to specify this behavior in the regular expression itself, as specified in the elisp program. Possible?

As mentioned earlier, a way to control this is to bind case-fold-search . It is not possible to specify the value of a regular expression (or its absence) in the regular expression itself.

As this happens, regular regular matches are case insensitive by default.
