Do we need an iPhone / iPad for its development?

Today I was browsing the website and found something in this iphone and ipad development project. I had a question about whether the iphone developer needs to work or if there is another device such as a simulator in which we can also test it.

It would be great if you can share some documents at startup.

Thanks.

We have applications that work without problems on the simulator and a crash on the device, so I would say yes. You can put it off a bit, and work on the main aspects and buy the device later, but you should get it.

You should start with the iPhone Dev Center and, depending on your knowledge of Objective-C, try some tutorials for it. One of the first lessons that I read about Objective-C that helped me a lot here

You can simulate certain gestures and actions while the simulator is running: developer.apple article here

You can test many aspects without having an iPad.

There are, however, some of which you cannot.

  • Click
  • Acceleration sensor
  • 3G internet
  • much more

I highly recommend buying an iPad / iPhone for user interface testing. PCs and iPads have very different models of user interaction, it is difficult to create an application for your own feelings without an actual device.

I don’t think there are any devices that run the iPhone system. If they are, they are probably illegal.

Xcode creates an emulator.

You do not need a device to run the code, etc., but try checking the sensor and other sensors in the emulator.

So basically, if you plan on sending anything more than helloworld, you should probably get an Apple device.

You can develop with the iPhone SDK, which includes an emulator. http://developer.apple.com/iphone/index.action , but you will probably be better off having one of the devices if you are developing a complex application. To work with a camera or sensors, it is best to have a real device for checking the code.

There should be an emulator (I'm not sure this is an assumption), but, like in the case of any other development, you better have a real device so that you have better chances of reproducing the problems reported by clients.

You must have Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard to develop an iPad
