Rake + tiles

Does anyone have experience integrating Tiles in Grails (instead of SiteMesh)?

I found several articles like this: http://devdevdev.wordpress.com/2009/01/ , and as I understand it, at least a year ago it was not possible to use Tiles inside Grails. Maybe something has changed the last time? Has anyone tried to do this?

ps. or maybe there is another grails plugin that allows me to use the Composite View design template ?

It is very difficult to backtrack from standard templates in Grails. We tried to reject xhtml templating in grails 1.1.1, but in the first 1 hour I realized that it would be difficult. I'm not sure if there are any simple options / plugin in grails 1.3.3
