Git push stuck 99%

What do you do when you add too many large binary files (PSDs) and try to push while git is stuck 99%?

$ git push origin dev Counting objects: 4790, done. Delta compression using up to 4 threads. Compressing objects: 99% (4504/4512)

git currently uses 2.7 gigabytes of memory and rock climbing. This was 2.0 when I started introducing this question. I think I will kill him and hope someone knows a good solution.

How long have you been waiting? If you have many large files, this may take some time. If you really need to cancel the click, you can press ctrl - c to stop it.

I see that this is an old post, but for the record:

I suspect this is due to binary delta compression, and you can modify .gitattributes to tell git not to run delta compression for given file extensions.

See: git pull without remote object compression
