Experience using Groovy ++ in Grails

Has anyone tried to implement a Grails solution with Groovy ++ under the hood?

~~It is currently not working.~~

Grails 1.3.2 (latest version) uses Groovy 1.7.3

Groovy ++ requires Groovy 1.8 (which is not currently released)
