What versions of IE use the standard event model?

I searched for this but did not find a satisfactory answer. What versions of Internet Explorer, if any, implement the W3C DOM Level 2 event model?

IE 9 must be the first version of IE to add a W3C event model in addition to their own model according to Wikipedia .

Microsoft did not follow the W3C model until Internet Explorer 8, as their own model was created before the ratification of the W3C standard. Internet Explorer 9 is supposed to keep track of level 3 events.
