Tips in PDF files: are they possible?

I am using the tcpdf PHP class to create PDF files. Is there any solution to add tooltips to links?

The links themselves cannot have tooltips. Viewers always show URLs.

But TCPDF can add “Annotations,” which comes closest to tooltips (but they need to be assigned rectangle areas instead of text / paragraph). http://www.tecnick.com/pagefiles/tcpdf/doc/com-tecnick-tcpdf/TCPDF.html#methodAnnotation

You will need to refer to the PDF specification. Sections 8.4 and 8.4.5, and you are looking for a "Popup". http://www.adobe.com/devnet/pdf/pdfs/PDFReference16.pdf

I don’t think so ... it seems that the library does not support it, I have not even met it in practice.

By the way, they are called comments in PDF format.
