Which cPanel / WHM language server is running?

I plan to make an application like cPanel / WHM in perl, since I have never developed my own server in perl, and I was thinking about a few points that I need, some tips / help:

  • cpanel and whm work on ports 2082/3 and 2086/7 so that their panel server I wondered what language their server is made in or is there a good module for perl to store such a web server?

  • From what I know, cpanel / whm runs as root, what should I remember when my own server processes my panel while it works as root?

  • if you know about any USING the open source PERL that is on this path, I would kind of take a look at it.

Take a look at webmin , the source code is here: http://github.com/webmin/ . This is an alternative to open-source cPanel, Plesk, etc. All modules are apparently written in perl. You can expand it or just study the code to study. Your choice.

For your own server, I would look at Plack / PSGI . Perhaps using Catalyst to help you.
