How to specify the chrome language of your website (as a hint for translation)

I have a web application that is in the queen, but chrome translates the bar and tells me that it is in Estonian.

I tried lang and xml: lang, but the google translation panel seems to ignore them.

Note. The web application is fully Ajax, and the content that pops up the popup is dynamic content that may appear after the page loads. So maybe I need to add a title to my Ajax answers?

Has anyone had such problems?

Guido

I would just add a lot of text in the about section or in a hidden div or something like that - your browser may need some more text to correctly determine the language. You are not the first to have this problem .

They said that you can avoid the translation by doing this:

<body class="notranslate">

or

 <meta name="google" content="notranslate" />

But see for yourself :)

I know that this does not answer your question, but you could add Estonian as one of your preferred languages, then Chrome will not offer to translate it for you.

This google language detection code can help you determine where the problem is.
