Since I used an external monitor with a laptop, when I need to change the brightness of the backlight, I have to press the buttons of the monitor to navigate its menu and adjust the brightness.
This is really a pain. This is too many button presses! When I used my built-in laptop monitor, it was as simple as assigning an Fn plus a combination.
Perhaps some of you might think that this cannot be changed programmatically. I thought that too. But I just found a control (GUI control) in my video card configuration that does just that. Thus, it proves that it can be changed programmatically.
But I can not find any tool or utility that does this. All I have found are tools that adjust gamma, brightness and contrast. But the brightness of the backlight is another matter.
Do any of you know how to programmatically configure this damn thing on Windows?
