Boot files downloading packages over the Internet from Microsoft

What are the best methods for creating downloads on the Internet that link to Microsoft packages?

For example, InstallShield has a prerequisite for installation, which can download vstor40_x86.exe from Microsoft.com through the go.microsoft.com/fwlink link identifier, which resolves the download URL for this EXE. InstallShield did not create PRQ for vstor40_x64.exe, and I need to create it. I found a Microsoft page that has download links for x86 / x64.exe, but I cannot find the fwlink identifier that allows x64.

What is the position of Microsoft? They document the fwlink ID anywhere and do we want us to contact Microsoft so that they can control accessibility or is it a bad practice that just gets washed out of Microsoft?

I just looked at the bootloader that was installed when installing Visual Studio 2010 on my machine. It is located in the SDK directory (c: \ program files \ microsoft sdks \ windows \ 7.0a). The Bootstrapper directory contains a bunch of them, the ones you select when you create the VS installation project and select the prerequisites.

On my machine, the package file is located in vstor40 \ en \ package.xml. The fwlink declared there for x64 version -

http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=158918

Given the readiness of these bootloaders in VS, I seriously doubt that Microsoft has any problems with you actually using them.
