Open Java SMB Server Implementation

Is there an open SMB / CIFS server implementation in Java? The only implementation I can find is Alfresco, but it is not open source.

A related question: assuming there is no such implementation, I am surprised that there is no library that provides even a subset of SMB, for example. for easy file transfer. My intuition is that it would not be easy to implement a simple server (but, of course, it would be very difficult to implement a complete solution such as Samba). The fact that no one seems to have done this makes me suspicious that it is harder than I expected. Is there an implementation because it is complicated or because no one cares?
