Warning: GDB: failed to install control terminal: operation not allowed

I get this error (the title of this question) when I try to debug C / C ++ programs using gdb with the NetBeans IDE.

Does anyone know what this means and how to get rid of the warning?

I can debug, despite the warning, but I would still like to warn about this.

Relevant Details:

  • OS: Ubuntu 9.10
  • gdb: 7.0-ubuntu
  • Netbeans: 6.8.1
