I was looking for a specific Unicode character when I came across U + 215F: fraction numerator one (⅟)

What is it for the earth for? Is this useful for something in particular (other than to have 1 floating over empty space)? Could this be combined, somehow, with other glyphs to create other fractions? Is there anything in this bar that only really smart people can see?
