PHP, how to check if the day was a holiday (in the specified country)?

Is there any function that will tell me if the date was a holiday in a particular country?

I know this is probably a useless question since it would be difficult to have such a function.

I may be mistaken, but I think you will have to minimize it yourself. And even if there is already a lib that does this for you, you need to be careful - the definition of a holiday will differ even for a specific country. (For example, does a religious holiday mean that banks are closed?). I. What constitutes a holiday is likely to be application dependent. There is no built-in function for this function, but you can use it with a holiday script in AbleDesign as a base

Rather late in posting the answer, but as the current maintainer of the corresponding PEAR packages, I would advise you to use a date set for components from PEAR . There are drivers for most countries: Australia, USA, UK, Germany, Russia and others.
