What are the various Python CMS and their statuses?

I usually am a PHP developer who has a lot of experience with the Drupal CMS and infrastructure. And I understand that Drupal is very mature, but I know little about the Python script.

I heard the following CMS are mentioned:

  • Plone
  • Django (framework)

What other CMS exist, and what, in your opinion, are some of the pros and cons? How mature are they? Should I even use Python for general web development?

My vote is for Django CMS . Django itself is the foundation of development (but it gives you a lot of free, including an excellent admin plug-in). DjangoCMS is an application that can be installed in a Django application. I use DjangoCMS, and as a Django user, I find it to be perfect. I'm not what non-Django users think. This is not Wordpress.

Here is a page listing Python based CMS . Zope Plone is very popular and very mature. In addition, you have custom solutions built using Django, such as Django-CMS, as well as a wiki, such as MoinMoin Engines. This page gives you many options.

Django is not a CMS; it is a web development framework.

However, Django's roots come from newspaper-oriented CMS-like systems. Unsurprisingly, Django is a very good platform for creating CMS.

You can check the status of Django- based CMS on Django-packages , which tracks the project metrics of many packages.
