AppleScript: adding an attached folder to the sidebar Finder?

I have a simple Apple Script that installs a folder:

mount volume smb://machineip/folder

This starts at startup because Mac OS X 10.5.5 does not have the concept of mapped drives, such as Windows. Script does not fit as much as I would like. I get the IP address of the machine added to the Finder sidebar, and when I click on it, all the public folders for this device are displayed, including the β€œfolder” above with a small extraction icon. How to get this folder in the "Devices" section of the Finder sidebar using Apple Script.

Is there any way to do this through Automator?

You might want to learn to use fstab instead of mount script. Check here how to do it. If you want the installed folders to be accessible in the Finder sidebar, you can probably just drag the / Volumes / (name) folder to your places panel.
