Database Chart Tools for SQL Server CE 4

Question

Despite the fact that in VS2010 there are GUI tools for entering data, recording requests, etc. on SQL CE4 db, there seems to be no way to visualize the database in digram.

So my questions

A) I missed something in VS2010 tools for sql Server CE4

b) Can I use SMSS for SQL CE4 databases. I tried, but this did not allow to open db. Is the plugin available?

Microsoft does not provide charting tools for SQL Server Compact 4, you can try my VS 2010 add-in http://sqlcetoolbox.codeplex.com (create a database graph) or Port Console data from http://www.primeworks-mobile.com

In fact, there is a charting tool for SQL CE right in VS, but it's hard to find.

I only tried this in VS 2012 Preview, but it can work in older versions - please comment in the comments.

Here's how to get to it:

A server connection creates a normal connection to the SQL CE database. (No chart functions are visible ...)

Then right-click the table → Show Table Data ... Wait ...

Press Ctrl-1.

TA-DAH!!

Alternatively, right-click in the tabular data window and select “Panel” from the context menu. (I know, “Panie!”?)

Finally, from the "Panels" submenu, select the obvious choice - "Chart".

There you have it.
