Progressive Download Standard

Is there any document that talks about how progressive loading works. I know that it is based on HTTP, but it needs more information about how the data is downloaded and what messages are sent between the player and the HTTP server. Is there any standard defined for it.

The above document talks about dynamic adaptive flow. Progressive HTTP downloads are a completely different technique than adaptive streaming, in the sense that they are NOT adaptive.

With progressive downloads, video (or content) is loaded, as if other downloads were via HTTP.
