Access Apple Earbud Click Controls in C

I wanted to find out if there is a way to access applications and listen to the Apple Earbud Clicker controls in the new headphones, just as applications can listen to the IR receiver for custom Apple Remote functions. I know that iTunes has this ability (more precisely, iTunes Helper), because when I double-click the play / pause click, iTunes opens. I was looking for an attempt to access the clicker from HID / IOServices, but at present I can not find the answer, if someone can shed some light on this topic, it will be very appreciated.

I suspect that you could connect to this by forcing your application to play sound (perhaps silence?), And then accept the events as “control events” for your “audio player”. You can look at the AV Foundation Framework as a place to start.
