Is a "replacement" & nbsp; "?

In my ASP.NET application, I tried to add a few spaces between two text fields by typing a space. The equivalent HTML source was   instead of   . So I just wanted to check: is this a new replacement for the space? If so, any idea why they have changed?

They are the same, except for the fact that the latter does not need another lookup table to find its actual value. For example, the lookup table is called DTD .

They both mean inextricable space, yes.   is another synonym in hex format.

  - a numeric link to refer to the   - they are the same. Your editor probably just inserts a link instead of a name.
