Django Registration Options

I am watching django-registration . It is at alpha 0.8 and has not been updated for 12/13 months. But it seems like this is what most people use? I'm just wondering if there is a standard package for user management on the django website or are people inclined to roll on their own?

I am working on a GAE application that will use its own registration module. It works using AJAX, can create new users in the database, send codes to check new users and restore existing users via e-mail. I have almost finished working with this module, and I am sure that it does not take a lot of time to configure using Django models to work with the database. The important thing you can take from there is the concept of registration / verification / recovery processes. Please feel free to clone the module from here and participate in its development.
