How to move an existing task from one view to another in Jenkins?

I want to move an existing task from one view to another, but I cannot find a way. Is this the only way to copy a task and remove it from another view? I would like to have the same name, and in my experience, Jenkins is not very good at renaming jobs.

You can simply do this by editing the view (the "Edit View" link on the left) and checking / unchecking the boxes enter image description here

starting with the latest versions of Jenkins (actually using 1.651.1), there is a [Move] link in the left menu, where you can simply select the destination folder from the drop-down list, then you need to edit the view to enable the work.

All of the above answers are correct. However, the checkbox will only be available if you select "List View" when creating the newest view. If you choose My Look, this may not work.

In some cases, such as mine, you may not find the EditView. I could solve this problem by clicking on the gear icon in the control panel view and selecting the "Customize" button

Configure Buttton

You will then receive a view edit form to select / deselect a job
