Word jumps to iTerm2 or terminal to OSX Lion

I recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Lion and Xcode 4.1, and word switching has stopped working both in the terminal and in iTerm2. Are mappings changed?

This is with and without a readline home installation.

My .inputrc as follows:

 "\e[1;5D": backward-word "\e[1;5C": forward-word

Thank!

Just add escape sequences to your iTerm settings as global keyboard shortcuts.

Word back (arrow option):

a iTerm settings

Same thing with the word forward, just use F

The easiest / fastest way I've found is in the "Profiles> Keys>" Loading Presets ... ">" Editing Natural Text "section.

Then use the option key, not the control key.

I added the following to / etc / inputrc

 # word jump on SHIFT left/right arrows "\e[1;2D": backward-word "\e[1;2C": forward-word

it works great

Following the instructions given in the answers above, I found that on my laptop the first bash (1.bash) will not be able to jump in words by pressing the + arrow option. Instead, he simply types โ€œ[Dโ€, โ€œ[Cโ€. However, if I create a new bash window (2. bash), the word jump works.

To kill a fly from a gun:

  • Go to Settings ... > Profiles > Keys
  • Click Download Preset ...
  • Select Natural Text Editing

You can then move the word backward using Option โŒฅ + โ† , and the word forward using Option โŒฅ + โ†’ , go to the beginning of the line using fn + โ† , and to the end of the line. line with fn + โ†’ . You can also delete the word back with Option โŒฅ + โŒซ , delete the entire line with Command โŒ˜ + โŒซ .

If the preset does not appear, reinstall iTerm2. If you installed it using Homebrew + Cask:

 brew cask reinstall iterm2
