How to move tab in Notepad ++ to a new window?

How to move tab in Notepad ++ to a new window? (EDIT: the Move to New Instance parameter is disabled, how to enable it?)

I tried to drag it, for example, in Firefox and Chrome, but this will not work. I also tried the Move to Other View option, but it splits the same Notepad ++ window into two.

You can right-click on a tab and select a transition or opening in a new instance.

This only works for files that are not dirty (when the tab icon is not red).

Right-click the tab you are working with and click Move to New Instance, or to open the file in a new window, click Open in New Instance.

Just Ctrl + Left Clicking to drag a tab will create a new instance of the Notepad++ window.

Also, make sure the tab is NOT in RED.

If you want to open each file in a separate instance during the initial opening action, there is a setting.

Go to settings -> Preference

  1. Press Alt + F6 to create a new instance.
  2. Drag the desired tab to the new instance with the mouse.
